    Treated Myself Yesterday

Thursday, May 15, 2008, 07:18 PM MST [General]

I treated myself yesterday to a few little treats for my altar that I had put off.  One was getting a small offering bowl and plate for my altar and the other was getting a few small white ramekins and a small white tart dish for esbats.  I wanted to get some good mead as well but ran out of money.  I had been searching for an incense burner but really dislike the brass ones.  On one of the many witchcraft sites, I saw a ceramic bowl in a few nice colors but it came with black sand.  I wasn't able to pick the color of bowl I wanted or change the color of the sand so I gave up.  Then, a voice in my head told me that I had two serving bowls both with a handle that I had picked up at a place called The Town Dump YEARS ago and why couldn't I use the smaller one?  I pulled them out and sure enough, the small one is perfect.  I have some beach sand from my last trip to CA to boot, so, as it turns out, I had what I needed all along!  I love it when that happens!  I also remembered that I had two crystal shot glasses my SIL brought back from Sweden as a gift, so I can use those for the mead.  I honor the Norse pantheon-Odin and Frigga specifically-so, again, what I wanted was stashed away in the depths of my cabinets.  Both the bowl and glasses were obtained years before I found Wicca.  I'm usually one to toss or donate what I don't use so I'm a little suprised that I still had them.

The pendant I ordered from Cybermoon finally arirved today.  It's the triple moon with a moonstone as the full moon in the center and a pentacle on the back.  I ordered it nearly two months ago but due to a typo, was sent back to Cybermoon.  The typo was very minor.  Instead of Way, I had typed Wat.  You're telling me that the post office couldn't have figured THAT out?  Anyway, tomorrow, I'm going to get a silver chain so I can wear it.  It's on my altar now.  It's my first piece of Pagan jewelry.  I haven't worn a necklace for a long time.  I have a few but ordinarily, they're to wear with an outfit.  Normally, when I wear jewelry, it's on all the time like my wedding ring.  I'll keep this on all the time too, it'll just take a while getting used to wearing a necklace again.

Well, that's the news from Lake Wobegone, as it were.  Talk to you all later.

    Blessings

    Walking Prayer/Meditation

Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 01:28 PM MST [General]

This song just started up in my head.  I remember it from high school when the madrigal group opened their spring concert to it.  They processed down the aisle and it occured to me that this could be spoken or sung while walking or sitting.  Last month my book club read a book about labrynths and this would be perfect for that sort of thing.  Unfortunately, I don't remember the composer.

We got a little more rain last night. It sure smells good this morning.
I live in a small town southeast of Phoenix called Safford. We are an agriculture/mining community.
I see on your profile you mentioned the world of Dr. Seuss. I love his books, I don't know how many sets my kids wore out before I got them all raised. I am now buying them for my grand-kids. My favorite is 'Green Eggs and Ham'. It's always the first one I buy for a new grand child.
    Have a blessed day

You're rain energy worked. We got a nice little shower just a little while ago. It is so nice out now. The air smells clean and everything is pretty and green.
Isn't this path amazing. I have always been a lover of nature, but since I found Paganism, I see things I never saw before, and to think they have always been there, I just didn't look for them.
It's nice to meet a fellow Zonie. Stop by and visit anytime.
    Blessings
